Process: 

1.Pretreatment (remove water and contaminants)

2.Esterification ( remove FFA)

3.Methanol distillation (recover methanol)

4.Transesterification (produce biodiesel)

5.Methyl Ester distillation(refine Methyl Ester)

6.Glycerination(recover oil)

First of all,water,particles and phospholipids are removed at the stage of pre-treatment.At the stage of esterification,free fatty acids are converted into fatty acid methyl esters. Then refined oil is reacted with methanol using a hydroxide catalyst in a single-stage process yielding fatty acid methyl esters. After removal of excess methanol, the crude methyl ester is settled to remove the co-product glycerol. Following sedimentation, the ester is vacuum distilled, which removes catalyst residues, free glycerin, and other undesirable products soluble in the ester. After distillation, biodiesel is discharged to storage.

On April 11, 2019, the two enterprises finally signed the general contract of the project, and reached a deep cooperation agreement on the construction of the second phase of the project, the integration and extension of the upstream and downstream resources of the industrial chain, and the initiation and construction of the new energy industry park. It is reported that the project produces 50,000 tons of biodiesel annually and can digest more than 50,000 tons of "waste oil" every year, greatly reducing the opportunity of "waste oil" to return to the table in Yunnan Province and its surrounding areas.
